10 Reasons To Make The Site For Your Start-Up

There are a lot of benefits for creating your own start-up website. Some people will hire a web designer, but there is no need to do that at this stage. Once your website is popular and pulling in a lot of traffic, then you may wish to hire someone for a complete redesign of your website. If you are looking to start up your own website, here are a few reasons why you should do it for yourself.

10 Reasons To Make The Site For Your Start-Up

1 - It is cheaper than hiring a web designer

A good web designer is not cheap. Even though a web designer will be able to create a better more sophisticated website, you do not need one when you are just starting up. You can even use one of the many CMS (Content Management Systems) to build your website, so you will not have to learn any web programming code.

Many CMS programs are free, and even the ones that are not are going to be cheaper than hiring a web designer. You may also add as many pages as you like without having to pay extra.

2 - It is quicker than hiring a web designer

If you build the website, yourself then you can start right away. You do not need to trawl around looking for a good web designer, nor do you have to spend time explaining what you want. There is also a waiting period whilst the web designer creates your website. If you do it yourself then you can start today and have a few pages already finished by the end of the day.

3 - It will be easier to update

Instead of having to run back to your web designer every time you want to update your website, you can do it yourself. You can also change the look and layout of your website without needing to pay anyone.

4 - You can customize it how you wish

You can keep customizing and changing it until you are happy with it. It will not cost you any extra money if you like the website design for a week, but then decide to change your mind.

5 - You can add content as you are designing

Instead of having your website designed and then adding your content to it, you can add the content as you are creating it. This will also mean that you may publish each web page as soon as it is finished. You can start loading pages right away, even though the rest of the website is not finished yet.

6 - You can build it up gradually

You do not need to start with a 100-page website. You can start with a ten-page website and then add to it as time goes on. You will also find that this makes your website more manageable.

7 - You can ensure that it is search engine friendly

You can never be sure that everything your web designer does is going to be for the best interest of your search engine optimization. If you design it, then you can be sure that you do not make the mistakes that a web designer may make.

8 - You can make sure the pages are lightweight

You can set yourself a limit of how man megabytes you wish to have each page at, and then design your pages up to that limit. In that way, you can personally ensure that your pages are not going to take too long to load (this is good for your search engine optimization).

9 - You can be sure that it is secure

It is unethical for a web designer to leave back doors into your website’s systems. If you design the website yourself then at least you can be sure that there are no purposeful security flaws. You may also install security measures that some web designers may not install (unless you asked them to).

10 - You can change the website completely if you wish

There is no need to stick with one design or even one website. You may start a website selling boots one week, and the week after you can delete all the pages and start a website selling cheese. If you design your own start-up websites, then this is the choice you are able to apply at your discretion.
